Vice Minister of Agriculture Zhang Taolin Visits Xinxiang Experimental Station

Vice Minister of Agriculture Mr. Zhang Taolin accompanied by Mr. Chen Mengshan, Party Secretary of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) paid a research visit to Xinxiang Experimental Station on May 9, 2014. Leaders taking part in the research include Ms. Liu Yan, Deputy Director General of the Department of Science and Education of Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) and Mr. Lin Xiangming, Division Director, Mr. Yuan Longjiang, Director General of CAAS Department of Agricultural Technology Transfer, Ms. Xue Yuwan, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Agriculture of Henan Province, Mr. Li Qinggui, Xinxiang Party Secretary, Mr. Luo Quanqi, Chairman of Henan Zhongyuan Zhongnong Seed Ltd. Co, and General Manager Mr. Li Weitao, as well as Mr. Zhang Baoming, ICS Party Secretary and Mr. Wang Shuming, ICS Deputy Director General.

Following a brief introduction of Mr. Wang Shuming to the status and overall progress of the basic research in wheat, Vice Minister Zhang Taolin made a field visit to the National Center for Dwarf Male-sterile Wheat Breeding. They watched the shows for recurrent selection wheat groups, high-generation strains, and newly bred varieties, and expressed appreciation and gratitude to ICS for the multi-year extension of dwarf male-sterile wheat breeding techniques and materials nationwide and wheat breeding network.

Mr. Chen Mengshan hopes ICS to further make advantages of techniques and resources in wheat breeding and deepen collaboration and innovation in disease resistance, water efficiency, and production stability, so as to better serve the wheat industry.
