Overview:

Acta Agronomica Sinica is an academic journal of crop sciences directed by China Association for Science and Technology, jointly sponsored by Crop Science Society of China and Institute of Crop Sciences of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and published by Science Press. Acta Agronomica Sinica was formerly known as Serial Articles of the Agricultural Association of China originally founded by the Agricultural Association of China in Jan 1919. The Journal of the Agricultural and Forestry Association of China, The Journal of the Agricultural Association of China, China Agricultural Research and Acta Agriculturae used to be the name of this journal before the current name Acta Agronomica Sinica was determined in 1962. Academic essays, research reports, news briefs, overviews or comments on special academic subjects and other categories make up the columns of this journal and these articles are composed based on the first-hand materials concerning various fields of crop sciences such as crop genetic breeding, farming & cultivation, physiological and biochemical studies, ecology, germplasm resources, cereal chemistry, storage & processing technology and other crop-related biological technology, biomathematics, biophysics, agricultural meteorology and so on. The journal is published aiming at bringing prosperity toChina’s crop sciences and technologies; promoting academic exchanges, both domestic and abroad; and speeding up China’s agricultural modernization. Audience of this journal consists of personnel engaged in crop sciences research, university and college teachers and students or professional staff at equivalent level.

Acta Agronomica Sinica is the leading journal inChina’s crop sciences research field and is also an important academic forum established by generations of Chinese crop sciences researchers with their hard work and dedication. It boasts an editorial board formed by prestigious specialists and scholars and strictly complies with peer review system in order to ensure the academic level of the published essays while presenting the development level ofChina’s crop sciences through these essays.

Acta Agronomica Sinica has been collected and compiled into many important international databases or retrieval systems, for example: AGRIS within Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Biological Abstracts (BA) in the USA, Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience Abstract (CABA) and Global Health within the Centre for Agricultural Bioscience International (CABI) in UK, Food Science and Technology Abstracts (FSTA) in UK, Chemical Abstracts (CA) in the USA, Cambridge Scientific Abstracts (CSA) in the USA; Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) database; Abstract Journal (AJ) of VINITI Database RAS in Russia, Scopus within Elsevier B.V. in Dutch and Index of Copernicus (IC) in Poland, etc.

Acta Agronomica Sinica established its independent website in 2004 to provide open access to journal contents including inaugural issue, previous and current issues as well as online pre-publication of full text issue 2-3 months before printing. Highly-integrated networking as well as online submission and editorial system help achieving full-scale office automation in editorial office where both article submission by authors and peer review or editing by experts are allowed to be operated online.
